About Spirit Guides and Guardian Angels What is the difference between a Spirit Guide and a Guardian Angel? Does everyone have a Spirit Guide? Do I have More than One Spirit Guide? Do Spirit Guides Change Throughout my Life? Are my Spirit Guides unique to me? How long will my guide stay with me? Why are so many Spirit Guides foreign? Why are so many Guides Native American Indians? Can spirit guides be relatives? Can a spirit guide be someone living? The term "spirit guide" seems to mean something different to each and every person. In Spiritualist Churches the term “Spirit Guide” means someone in the spirit world who has had an Earth life and who has chosen to help and support you. When I first started channelling spirit guide pictures and messages for people my intention was to help them. Mostly, the spirits were people who had had an earth life but I also noticed that other types of spirit would appear. For example, people who love and feel close to angels have had an angel as a guide portrait. Fairies have been known to appear for people who are fascinated with fairies. The picture was always right for the person, so the precise terminology did not really matter. If they are helping us from the spiritual realms, they may be said to be a guide. Other energies that have been painted as spirit guides have been ascended masters, spiritual leaders, elementals (like a green man), Gods and Goddesses, even aliens. They may come from an ancient civilisations or from many walks of life – warriors and soldiers, religious and medical folk, gypsies, mystics, from legal and professional disciplines. Guides can appear to us as being of any age, young to old. A spirit guide can be an old soul from any culture, era or geographical location who is able to help us whilst we are in physical form. Top of Page What is the difference between a Spirit Guide and a Guardian Angel? Again, the two terms are largely interchangeable. All Guardian Angels are there to help and support us and lend their protecting energy to us. This may be whoever we are, whatever our spiritual beliefs, even if we don’t have any spiritual beliefs or are agnostic. Spirit Guides who are supporting people consciously walking a spiritual path, will be doing everything they can to help them on that path, be it mediumship, healing, mentorship, spiritual leadership, etc. Top of Page Does everyone have a Spirit Guide? Yes, everyone has spirit guides. Some guides are unique to you, others will be helping other people as well (think of angels, Jesus, Merlin, etc). Top of Page Do I have More than One Spirit Guide? Yes, you have a number of guides. Each guide may be with you for a different reason. This will be to support you during specific aspects of your life and journey. One guide is your main guide. They will be with you all your life and will never leave you. Top of Page Do my Spirit Guides Change throughout my Life? Yes, as you evolve and mature spiritually and as your circumstances change, your guides will change too. New guides, appropriate for new stages in your spiritual journey will move close to help you. Many people can sense when they have a new spirit guide close and this is one reason why someone may decide to have a spirit guide painting. Your main guide will never leave you. Are my Spirit Guides unique to me? Your guides work personally with you and for you. Guides who are relatives or pets, for example, appear to be unique to certain individuals. Many people at Mind Body and Spirit shows and other events have recognised particular guides in my gallery books. Having said that, each client’s guide is painted especially and uniquely for them, so it does seem that certain guides will help many people at once. Angels and ascended masters work with thousands, if not millions of people at once. Interestingly, I have painted guides of such magnitude more than once. They have appeared quite differently for each client, yet in such a way that is meaningful to them. On two occasions I have met other psychic artists who appear to channel an artist guide I have come to know as Matthew. One was a child, who spontaneously drew a painting of my previous client's aura. Another experienced psychic artist recognised the style of some pictures channelled through me because her guide painted in the same style. This lady works from Australia - so physical distance doesn’t appear to be a problem “upstairs”. Our guides help to arrange “coincidences” or opportunities for us. These will be in accord with our thoughts, words and actions and will align with our spiritual aims and purpose. Our guides will do what they can to bring these opportunities to our attention. It is up to us to recognise these opportunities and opt choose whether or not to take them. Have you ever sought insight or information, picked up a book or magazine and found

Your principal, or main guide, who will stay with you throughout your entire life. At other times you will be joined by one or more guides who are particularly skilled at helping with specific aspects or challenges. Some will be around you for a long time, others for shorter spells to help with specific issues. Why are so many Spirit Guides foreign? This is interesting and can certainly appear to be the case. However, our country and its population start to look very small when compared to the number of:-
When considered this way the likelihood of spirit guides being foreign does start to stack up. Top of Page Why are so many guides Native American Indians? People from these nations would have led an intensely spiritual existence during their time on Earth and evolved great wisdom while they were here. This would make them highly qualified to help people on Earth today. Having said that, a far, far greater number of guides are not native American Indians. Can spirit guides be relatives? Yes. People who pass into Spirit will often choose to stay close to their loved ones on the Earth plane. In my own family, both my sister and her friend saw the spirit of our Grandmother. She would often appear at the bedside of sick child. She has also made contact with various family members through a number of different mediums. Top of Page Most certainly yes. Guides can certainly be animals and, like any other guide, will have a particular reason for being with you. They may be family pets, totem animals or any furred, feathered or scaled creature from the animal realms. Top of Page Can a Spirit Guide be someone Living? Yes.
